Hensall Hall Gets Trullium Grant

Members of the Heritage Hall committee got some good news from the Trillium Foundation.

Chair Kay Wise says they had asked Trillium for a grant of $85,000 but received a grant of $87,600.

Wise explains the money will be used to install an elevator that will provide access to the upper floor concert hall.

Wise points out they're not required to install the elevator, but they were advised to do it now while they're doing the construction and it will allow some of the people who used to attend concerts when it was used regularly to return to the hall.

Wise adds the total cost of the project is about $300,000, but they also get a federal grant of more than $182,000 and they've also been able to raise almost $60,000 within the Hensall community.

Wise says there's still a lot of cosmetic work to be done but they expect to have the new Heritage Hall open sometime this year.
