Huron County Libraries Hopes to Build Social Media Connections

Huron County's Librarian says this year's Ontario Library Statistics Summary clearly underlines the fact that services offered by libraries have changed dramatically in just a few years.

The report is developed from statistics libraries from across the Province submit to the Ministry each year.

Meighan Wark says it used to be all about how many books went out and how many came back, but the focus now is more on the level of electronic transactions, and how many e-books go out.

Wark adds this year's report confirms for her that the Huron County library system is on the right track, but has to continue to build on its social media connection with the community.

And one of the benefits of the electronic services, according to Wark, is most of them are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
