Brockton Table Offer To Buy Brant Central

The Municipality of Brockton has offered to buy the old Brant Central Public School as they look to develop their new soccer facility.

At a special meeting Tuesday, council decided to put in a tender for the facility, which has been closed since 2012.

Council is looking at both Brant and the East Ridge Business Park for their new soccer complex.

"We know there will be a price tag if it comes to demolishing the building, so we'll have to look at that," David Inglis tells CKNX News. "Where as the property at East Ridge is our property, we've got lots of room up there."

Council will consider tenders at their meeting on April 13.

Council began to look at buying the school back in January.

The County of Bruce considered buying the school in 2014.
