Conservation Officials Don't Expect Significant Flooding

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority doesn't expect significant flooding despite warm temperatures and showers in the forecast over the next 24 hours.

The authority is advising the public to avoid local rivers and streams.

Banks can be extremely unstable and slippery.  And children can be unaware of the dangers created by fast flowing extremely cold water.

The SVCA will continue to closely monitor condition as there is still snow cover present in forests and wetlands in the upper reaches of the watershed.

The past few weeks have provided favourable conditions for a gradual melt.
