Huron County Libraries Loan Seeds

Just in time for spring planting - two Huron County library branches are offering a service that allows patrons to borrow seeds in the same way they borrow books.

Co-ordinator Maria Spaleta is a member of the Huron Food Action Network and got the idea for a seed library from a web site in the U.S.

The seed library work exactly the same as books - patrons borrow seeds in the spring; plant them and enjoy the results; and same some seeds to bring back to the library in the fall.

Library branches in Exeter and Wingham are offering seeds and they're already out of a few varieties.

Spaleta adds they hope to add the service to more library branches next year.
