Chesley Syrup Festival Raises $7,000 for Mission Zimbabwe

The Mission Zimbabwe Sugar Bush Breakfast plus raised over $7,000. for the project.

A record 700 people turned out for Saturday's festival at Cedar Rail Camp near Chesley Saturday.

All proceeds to go benefit the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe.

Over 100 volunteers were there to cook, serve, entertain , provide maple syrup demonstrations, and paint faces, .

The day also included an easter egg hut, wagon rides, dog agility demos and a the Easter bunny.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
