Collision Closes Part Of 7/8 in Perth County

The OPP have closed a stretch of Hwy 7 in Perth County after a two vehicle collision.

Just before 2:00 PM, the highway was closed between Perth Road 107 and Perth Road 108, West of Shakespeare. Police are calling it a serious collision.

Police say a westbound Dodge Caravan crossed from the west bound lane of Hwy 7/8 onto the eastbound lane colliding head-on with an eastbound Chevy Trailblazer.  As a result of the collision both drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic is being rerouted around the scene while a re-opening time is set for 3:30

Drivers travelling west or east on Hwy 7/8 may want to take a detour on either Line 37 or 33.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
