Police Investigate Road Rage Incident Near St. Marys

Perth County OPP officers are trying to track down the driver of a car involved in a road rage incident near St. Marys.

Police say it was just after 3 p.m. Thursday when a lone male driver of a red GMC pickup truck westbound on Hwy 7 north of the Wildwood round-about passed a westbound blue Volkswagen Jetta.

Shortly after, the Jetta caught up to the pickup and used the shoulder of the road to pass the truck, pull in front and hit the brakes suddenly resulting in the vehicles making contact before coming to a stop.

The Jetta driver got out of his vehicle and approached the driver’s side of the pickup where he yell at and assault the driver through an open window.

The Jetta driver then walked back to his car and took off, entering the roundabout and heading west on Perth Line 9 toward St. Marys. The pickup driver called police.

Perth County OPP officers would like to speak to anyone who may have observed the assault, or the series of driving events that took place prior to the assault.

You can contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
