Minto Homecoming Committee Gets Some Start-up Cash

Minto is lending the Clifford Homecoming Committee $25,000 to get started on plans for August, 2017.

The committee needs to pay deposits now for such things as bands, tents and the cost of creating a website.

The committee is starting early on its bookings since 2017 coincides with Canada’s 150 anniversary and there will be many events competing for such things as bands and tents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
