Minto Holding Public Meeting For New Water Meters

Minto residents can learn more about their new water meter rates at a public meeting later this month.

Water meters have been installed in Palmerston, Harriston, Clifford and Minto Pines.

As well as making people more aware of their water usage, the meters have turned up things like pipe leaks, and in one institution, an automatic flushing system that kept flushing 24-7 regardless of use.

The meters mean a lot less clean water is being sent to the sewage treatment plant.

The public meeting is set for April 21 in the Minto council chambers at 7pm.

The new water meter rates should be in effect by the end of the year.
