Police Investigate Assault On Saugeen First Nation

Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another following an assault on Saugeen First Nation.

Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police says on April 1 around 7pm, officers responded to the scene of the assault and arrested one suspect.

Cheryl Ritchie, 42, of Saugeen First Nation has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.

Police say Shawna Petonoquot, 19, of Saugeen First Nation is currently wanted on a charge of assault with a weapon.

There were no serious injuries reported to police.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
