Minto Headed For Busy Building Year

Minto appears headed for a busy building year even though the first two months of the year were relatively slow.

Chief Building Official Terry Kuipers reports that permits worth almost $5.6-million were issued to the end of March.

This is almost three-times the ten-year average for the same period of $2-million.

This year’s total is inflated considerably by a $2.75-million permit for renovations at the Palmerston Library.

“It looks like a great start which is what we need," says Minto Mayor George Bridge. "We spent a lot of time and money on economic development and now we’re seeing some of the results.”
