Almost Record Home Sales In Southern Georgian Bay

Home sales across the southern Georgian Bay region last month came close to setting another record.

In their latest report, the Southern Georgian Bay Association of Realtors stated that 245 properties changed hands across their area last month.

Kevin Woolham said this was a 38 percent increase over March 2014 and the second-best sales level for March since 2010.

Woolham explained that home sales have been running at historically strong levels for almost a year now.

During that time the supply of new listings has been trending lower.

“As a result, the overall supply of homes for sale on the market is at its lowest level in a decade. And those tight market conditions are being reflected in higher prices.”

Sales in SGBAR’s western district last month numbered 170 properties.

This was a 27 percent increase over March 2014 and an all-time record for the district. The Association’s western district includes Meaford and Grey Highlands.
