Mapleton Tendering Offers For Maintenance Facility

The Township of Mapleton will be going to tender in the next few weeks for it's new maintenance facility.

Township council has approved a layout design for the facility on Side Road 16, at an estimated cost of $5.4 million. It will be funded through insurance recovery, a municipal borrowing debenture, and reserves.

The original structure in Peel Township was destroyed by fire in late 2013.

The new building will see a merger of the Peel and Maryborourgh maintenance facilities into one. A long-term plan would see Mapleton partner with Wellington County when the County replaces it's Drayton shop next year.

Mapleton may have it's new maintenance building ready for use by the end of the year.
