UPDATE: House Fire Near Blyth

A fire that started in the basement of a Blyth area home has caused $200,000 worth of damage.

Firefighters from North Huron and Brussels were called to a home on Blyth Rd. just after 7:30am this morning.  No one was hurt and there were working smoke alarms in the house.

The cause is still under investigation but is not suspicious.

Blyth Rd. is now open between Elevator Line and Hwy. 4 after being closed for most of the morning.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
