Christine Elliott To Visit Area On Saturday

Progressive Conservative leadership hopeful Christine Elliott will be in the area on Saturday.

Elliot will be joined by area PC MPP’s Lisa Thompson, Bill Walker and Randy Pettapiece in a meeting with the Huron County Economic Development Board and a tour of the Kincardine hospital.

In the afternoon, she will be at the Clifford Community Hall for a meet-and-greet, which is scheduled to begin at 3pm.

A new poll on Tuesday showed the Whitby MPP behind Barrie MP Patrick Brown in the race to be the next leader of the PCs.

The race is now down to two candidates after London-area MPP Monte McNaughton dropped out of the leadership race last week to endorse Brown.

Thompson, Walker and Pettapiece have all thrown their support behind Elliot.

Party members will be permitted to vote for a leader between May 3 and May 7, with the results announced at a convention on May 9.
