Meeting Over Wiarton-Keppel Airport

South Bruce Peninsula and Georgian Bluffs are inviting citizens to take part in a public meeting at the Wiarton Keppel International Airport on Saturday.

The meeting, which will take place at 10am, is designed to let the public come forward with ideas and opportunities for the troubled airport.

Both municipalities have cut funding in half to the jointly-owned airstrip, as it faces the need for several million dollar upgrades.

In the meantime, the strip's interim manager will see his contract expire on May 1, which could possibly see the airport close.
