Fraser Institute High School Rankings Released

The Fraser Institute has published their annual rankings of 749 Ontario Secondary schools.

Rankings come from seven academic indicators that use data from annual province wide tests of literacy and math skills.

In Huron-Perth, Stratford Central had the strongest result, ranked at 29th in the province. Other local schools ranked in the top half were South Huron Secondary in Exeter (200), Listowel District Secondary (238), Goderich District (281), Mitchell (325) and F.E Madill of Wingham (371).

The highest ranking school Grey-Bruce was St. Mary's of Owen Sound at 215th. Peninsula Shores in Wiarton and Kincardine were tied (258) and Saugeen (325) round out the top 400.

For northern Wellington County Norwell in Palmerston had the highest ranking at 371.

The results marked an overall improvement for local schools, with most having a higher rating from last year and their recent trends.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
