Brockton To Build Soccer Facility At East Ridge

The Municipality of Brockton’s new soccer complex is set to be located at East Ridge Business Park.

After council’s attempt to buy the Brant Central school came well-short, Brockton will now look to build their $1.2-million dollar project at East Ridge.

CKNX News has learned Brockton's $225,000 bid was around $108,000 less than the top bid of $333,000.

The Bluewater District School Board closed tenders on the building last week.

Council had initially elected to build the project at East Ridge but put that decision on hold after the school became an option for the new facility.

Council expects to get construction bids back on the complex in the next couple weeks.

Fundraising officials hope construction could start as early as this year.
