Kincardine Band Invited to Holland For Liberation Celebration

The Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band has been invited to participate in the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland.

John McManus says only four or five pipe bands from Ontario have been invited to the event.

The week-long event, called the Welcome Back Veterans Celebration, is being held next month.

Band members pay their own way, and McManus said this trip may be the last one for many of the veterans.

McManus has asked Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie for a formal letter he can take to Holland for presentation.
