North Perth council discussed the future of the Atwood and Monkton branches of North Perth Public Library at last night's meeting.
Vice President of the library board Bernice Weber-Passchier told council the board has decided to go with a scenario that would centralize to the Listowel branch, with a form of mobilized service to the others.
She says the decision was based on lack of funding and deteriorating facilities in Monkton and Atwood.
The board set June 1st as the soft deadline date for a new proposal, otherwise the potential closure of the Atwood and Monkton libraries will go forward
