West Perth Hopes For Connecting Link Funding

With the relaunch of Ontario's Connecting Links program, the Municipality of West Perth is hoping it could mean the replacement of Blanchard Bridge in Mitchell.

The Ontario government has announced the program is returning after a three-year absence.

West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie says they have been looking to replace the bridge on Highway 23 for over a decade.

The 15-million dollar-a-year program isn't expected to begin until next year.

The reconstruction of the Blanchard Bridge is expected to cost 1.7-million dollars.
