Former Central Huron Fire Chief Passes Away

A former Central Huron fire chief has passed away after a battle with cancer.

Steve Cooke served as a firefighter for 32 years starting with the Clinton Fire Department.

He was named chief for Central Huron in 2003 before retiring last year.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Legion in Clinton on Saturday, April 25 at 2pm.

Memorial donations can be made to the Central Huron Fire Department, London Health Sciences Foundation (London Regional Cancer Program) or the Royal Canadian Legion, Clinton Branch no. 140.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
