Canada Revenue Phishing Scam In Grey County

Grey County OPP is urging residents to be cautious if they get a call from someone claiming to be a representative from the Canada Revenue Agency.

Police says it's a phishing scam.

A Southgate resident received such a call Thursday morning and was told he had been audited and that if he didn’t conform to the audit he would be arrested within the hour.

The CRA is aware of an ongoing phishing scam similar to the incident reported to the OPP.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
