Owen Sound Police Officer Resigns After Investigation

An Owen Sound police officer has resigned from the force following an internal conduct investigation.

Constable Brian Follis was investigated by an external police service at the request of Owen Sound Police Chief Bill Sornberger.

Last June, Follis was charged with 15 counts under the Police Services Act, and subsequently suspended from duty.

Additional information that was obtained in the probe prompted another investigation, which resulted in 33 more counts under the Police Services Act.

The resignation means the proceedings are concluded, and a hearing scheduled to start on Monday has been cancelled.
