WWII Veterans Honoured In Seaforth Ceremony

Fourteen veterans were recognized Saturday in Seaforth for the sacrifices they made for their country during the Second World War.

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb presented each of them with a Victory lapel pin and a certificate recognizing their efforts.

Frank Golding spent 42 years in the military and says it means a lot to him to receive the honour and to get together with his fellow veterans.

"It certainly is nice to be recognized, but I think that the general public should be more aware of what the veterans did in times of war and of peace," Golding told CKNX News after being given the medal and certificate.

Golding says he's also disappointed that we, as a society, don't appear to have learned much from the Second World War, because there are still wars going on all around the world.
