Mount Forest Man Charged With Manslaughter

A 19-year-old Mount Forest man is facing manslaughter charges in the death of his 79-year-old grandmother.

Police were called to a home in Mount Forest around 1:30am Sunday morning.

Several people were hurt and taken to hospital. One of the victims, Joan Dinsmore, identified by police as the grandmother of the man facing charges, died as the result of her injuries.

Ryan Ives is facing numerous charges including manslaughter, assault causing bodily harm, and six counts of assault with a weapon.

He was scheduled to appear in court today for a bail hearing. The Wellington County Crime Unit is still investigating.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
