Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Mapleton Twp Crash

Police are investigating after a motorcycle crash sent one person to hospital with serious injuries in Mapleton Township.

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police says on Friday around 5:30pm, the motorcycle was traveling east on Wellington Rd. 8 when it left the road and entered a south ditch.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Wellington Rd. 8 was closed for several hours between Wellington Rd. 9 and Side Rd. 6 while officers were at the scene. It has since been reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
