Walkerton Splash Pad Plans To Open Next Summer

The Walkerton Splash Pad has the green light to be installed in time for next summer.

Split between Brockton and the Walkerton Kinsmen, the $160,000 project has the go ahead from council to begin construction next spring.

Mayor David Inglis says the Kinsmen are close to covering their cost and credits the community support for moving the process along so quickly.

"It's exciting when that happens." Inglis said. "You have a lot of volunteers out there raising money so I am happy it is going forward."

Inglis says some early work at the site can begin this fall with the pad hopefully completed in Walkerton by summer of 2016.
