RBC Donates To Midwestern Ontario Hospitals

Hospitals in midwestern Ontario are getting a financial boost from RBC.

Bank officials were in Hanover Wednesday to donate $10,000 each to the hospitals in Hanover and Walkerton. The money will go toward professional development and training for front line nurses.

Hanover hospital board chair Barbara Hicks says it's much needed funding to augment their budget.

"This is truly bonus money that we don't count on and it's an added help to us so it's a tremendous help," says Hicks.

Walkerton Hospital foundation board chair Tim Mancell says the money is appreciated.

"In this day and age, hospital budgets are pretty lean and mean because of the provincial situation and all the cutbacks there, so something like this is a hundred per cent bonus for us when it comes to professional development."

RBC is also donating $10,000 to Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound as well as four other midwestern Ontario hospitals.
