Central Huron Bloom Committee Host Beach Cleanup Saturday

The Central Huron Communities in Bloom Committee is looking for volunteers to help clean up the Black Point Beach Saturday.

CAO Peggy Van Mierlo explains they plan to start between 9am and 10am at the parking lot at the top of beach and they're asking volunteers to meet them there, pick up garbage bags and head down to the beach.

"We hope we can keep the momentum going," Van Mierlo tells CKNX News, "We're hoping that this will be a catalyst to start other small groups of friends or community groups to take part in this position and help us keep the beach clean."

Van Mierlo adds at the end of the day they'll take pictures of the team of volunteers and all of the garbage they've collected.
