Owen Sound Hires New City Manager

Owen Sound has a new city manager.

Mayor Ian Boddy has announced that Wayne Ritchie will take over the job

“I am pleased to have this opportunity, and I look forward to working with members of council, citizens, and all City staff,” says Ritchie.

Ritchie is a lifetime resident of the city, and started working for the municipality in 2001 as director of financial services.

He has also worked as manager of accounting at Georgian Bay Energy, the former city public utilities commission.

“Mr. Ritchie is an excellent choice to move into the role of City Manager, says Mayor Ian Boddy. "He brings to this position administrative experience and knowledge in the City of Owen Sound’s operations; and has already established a great relationship with staff.”
