Huron Will Consider Assuming G2G Trail Lease in County

Members of the Huron County section of the Goderich to Guelph Trail are asking the county to assume the lease for that portion of the trail.

Chris Lee explains the goal is to duplicate what Waterloo and Wellington counties have done in that they are the first lease-holder above the province and then the trail organizations sit above that.

Lee points out that consistency avoids fragmentation between the leases and the users.

Lee adds they're not asking the county for financial support, although they would welcome any help the county wanted to provide.

He says many of the liability issues will be dealt with in pending legislation.

The county has agreed to look into the request.
