Goat Stolen From Southgate Farm

An incident early Tuesday morning brought home the meaning of the phrase 'got your goat' for two Southgate Township residents.

The phrase refers to making someone annoyed or angry, and that's exactly how they felt just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Grey County OPP were called to a residence on Southgate Road 12 in response to a theft of a goat.

Two residents in the home were awakened and, when they looked outside, saw an unknown male carrying a 40 pound billy goat from the barn.

When the residents called out, the suspect ran towards a vehicle parked on the road and fled with the stolen goat.

The goat was wearing an ear tag #612.
