SIU Involved After Pickup Flips Near Dashwood

The Special Investigation Unit has invoked its mandate after a driver flipped his vehicle north of Dashwood early Sunday morning.

Huron OPP say an officer observed a pickup truck traveling westbound on MacDonald Road in an erratic manner just before 5am on Sunday.

Police say the officer attempted to stop the pickup truck, however the driver refused.

Officials say a few minutes later an OPP officer located the pickup truck overturned on its roof in the ditch at the intersection of MacDonald Road and Shipka Line.

The 71-year-old Bluewater man was then removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
