Wellington North Quarry Proposal May Soon Go Back to the OMB

The controversial Wilson Quarry proposal in Wellington North is a little closer to getting back to the Ontario Municipal Board.

Wellington North heard an impassioned plea from the Friends of The Luther Marsh, outlining the dangers the quarry may cause to the nearby Luther Marsh.

The fight against the quarry has been going on for decades.

The OMB hearing was adjourned pending a 'minutes of settlement'  that would attempt to ease concerns regarding the marsh as well as the neighbours.

The Grand River Conservation Authority earlier endorsed the 'minutes of settlement', and so has Wellington North.

Wellington County will vote on them at the end of June.
