Hanover Committee Considers Future of John Diefenbaker Senior School

Hanover has created a committee regarding the future of John Diefenbaker Senior School and the accommodation issues at the aging facility.

The province has given the Bluewater District School Board $19.5-million to address the issues at the school, that currently has excess capacity. Hanover Mayor Sue Paterson says they are looking to work with the school board to discuss possible partnerships.

The board got less than the $28-million dollars they asked from the province because of declining enrollment projections.

Hanover officials say the $19-million is $5-million less than what it would take to build a new school.
