Woman Killed In Head-On Crash Near Wroxeter

One person is dead and another is seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision south of Wroxeter.

The OPP report that Thursday around 4:30pm, a Chevrolet HHR wagon travelling north on Brussels Line collided head-on with a Ford 500 sedan that was travelling south.

The driver of the Ford 500 sedan, 70-year-old Kathleen Steckley of R.R.#1 Bluevale, was rushed to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR, 55-year-old Nancy Sewers of Teeswater, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in London.

The drivers were the lone occupants of their vehicles.

Brussels Line was closed for several hours between Amberley Rd. and Gough Rd. while police were at the scene.  It has since been reopened.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
