Council has voted in favour of a $45,000 replacement for the facility.
City staff said the roof was past its lifespan, which resulted in frequent repairs and leaks.
The project was initially slated to be finished by the end of June.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
The $7.6 million project, which also involved water and sewer infrastructure improvements, began in 2024.
