Owen Sound Police Charge Woman After Vehicle Backs Into Downtown Business

Owen Sound police have laid numerous charges against a 20-year-old woman after they allege she drove into a downtown building while impaired, and without a license.

Police say they were called to the rear parking lot of a downtown business just before midnight Friday to find that an SUV had reversed through a large window on the side of the building.

Police say both the driver and passenger were under the influence of alcohol when they arrived.

According to police, the female driver provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit.

The 20-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving and driving without a license.

Police say there were no injuries, however, damage to the window and vehicle were significant.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
