Ausable Bayfield Conservation Watershed Management Strategy Approved

The board of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has approved a new Watershed Management Strategy.

General Manager Brian Horner explains the Strategy will direct Authority staff in implementing the mission formulated by the Community Conservation Strategy back in 2012.

Horner says that mission states the goal of the Authority is to preserve, protect, enhance and restore the watershed as well as contribute to community health and build partnerships and awareness.

Horner points out the partnerships are critical to the work of the Authority.

He explains the Authority relies on grants to get projects done and if the people who provide the funding don't support the project there won't be any grants.
