New Traffic Lights Coming to Goderich

Construction on traffic lights at the LCBO and Canadian Tire intersection on Highway 8 is expected to get underway in July.

Goderich C-A-O Larry McCabe explains the price has gone up in the years since the developer placed a deposit with the town. He says what was a 225-thousand dollars project is now around 450-thousand dollars.

McCabe says the town will throw in fifty-thousand dollars to cover part of the increased cost, and that will also cover some of the cost for new sidewalks and re-aligning of the intersection.

The developer will be responsible for the placement and installation of the lights.

McCabe adds there are also plans to conduct a market study for the purpose of re-zoning the land for potential new tenants of the Shoppers Drug Mart building
