Huron OPP Rule Toddler Drowning As Accidental

Huron OPP have released more information regarding the drowning death of a toddler in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh on Sunday.

Police say they responded to a family farm on St. Helen's Line just before 9pm after family members found the 18-month-old girl unresponsive in a water trough inside a barn.

The child was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Investigators have established the cause of death as an accidental drowning.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
