Southampton Resident Runs For Lyme Disease Awareness

A Southampton resident ran from his hometown to Kitchener to help raise awareness for Lyme disease, and raise money for a friends medical treatment .

Curtis Roote completed the run over five days, culminating on the weekend.

He says so far he has managed to raise $15,000 of the $35,000 needed so his friend Mariah Reichert of Kitchener can get treatment in Germany.

The 21 year old Mariah has become bedridden since she was diagnosed four years ago, and her family has spent thousands on unsuccessful treatments.
