UPDATE: Barn Fire In Perth East

Damage is pegged at around $500,000 following a barn fire north of Millbank in the Township of Perth East.

Firefighters from multiple stations responded to the blaze on Wednesday around 1pm, on Line 80.

Perth East Fire Chief William Hunter says one person has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The loss of livestock is undetermined at this time.

The road between Perth Rd. 121 and Perth Rd. 116 was closed for several hours while fire crews were at the scene. The roadway has since been reopened.

A cause has yet to be determined, but an investigation into the blaze is ongoing.
