Huron Municipalities Find Economic Development Officer

The municipalities of Bluewater and Central Huron will share an economic development officer.

Kim Leach has been hired to fill the role. Leach will start next week and currently resides in Perth, in eastern Ontario. She most recently worked for the Township of Leeds and 1000 Islands and before that the Town of Smiths Falls.

Bluewater and Central Huron officials started the process earlier this year in hopes of capitalizing on similar needs.

Bluewater's mayor Tyler Hessel says it's exciting to move ahead with a regional approach to economic development.

Central Huron's mayor Jim Ginn says Leach brings a wealth of information to the area in agriculture, tourism and not-for profit organizations.
