Hawks' Nest Business Competition Coming Soon

The Saugeen Economic Development Corporation and Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation are launching a new business competition dubbed the Hawks' Nest.

The Dragons' Den inspired event will allow entrepreneurs from various sectors to pitch thier ideas to secure financial support from local investors, or Hawks.

Saugeen Economic GM Rose Austin says she is excited to be able to bring this competition to Grey, Bruce, Owen Sound and Wellington North.

She says the event should support local economic growth, and offer a viable option for new business and expansions.

The Hawks' Next Advisory committee is made up of representatives from nine local communities.

The next steps include the introduction of the local Hawks, training sessions, and ultimately the live show

"We are very pleased that the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southwestern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) is providing financial assistance for the Hawks’ Nest," says Barb Fisher, the general manager for the Bruce CFDC.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
