OPP Respond To Concerns About Hullett Wildlife Area Shooting

The mayor of Central Huron got the answers he was hoping for from OPP Commissioner Vince Hawkes regarding the fatal shooting at the Hullett Wildlife Area last September.

Jim Ginn says the shooting occurred on a Friday night, but area residents were left wondering most of the weekend if the gunman was still hiding in the wildlife area.

Ginn talked recently with the OPP commissioner about the breakdown in communications with the public. He was told that if the same situation happened again, the commissioner guaranteed it would be handled differently.

Boris Panovski is accused of shooting and killing construction executive Don Frigo and wounding Frigo's wife. The couple were riding horses in Hullett Wildlife Area when the incident occurred.

Panovski and Frigo knew each other through the sport of bird-dogging.

Panovski is scheduled to make a video appearance in Goderich court on June 11.  A date for a preliminary hearing may be set at that appearance.
