High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Four Grey County municipalities are looking for opportunities to streamline waste management operations.
Representative of Chatsworth, Grey Highlands, Southgate and West Grey attended an Inaugural Joint Meeting on Waste Management earlier this month.
A report to West Grey council says the next step is to have staff prepare a report on the waste management systems and operations in each municipalities.
The hope is to find efficiencies.
Representatives suggested they should look into potential joint tendering and operations of their combined sites.
The committee will meet again once the report is complete.
