Allan Thompson Hears Trudeau's Reform Plan First-Hand

The federal Liberal candidate for Huron-Bruce was able to catch the party leader's government reform plan in person.

Allan Thompson was in Ottawa this week when Justin Trudeau released a 32-point plan which included a push for change in the way Canadians vote.

Along with a number of parliamentary reforms, Trudeau also promised to create a special committee to study alternatives to the current first-past-the-post electoral system.

"Mr. Trudeau said this will be the last first-past-the-post system. we'd go into an 18-month study, consultation, reach out and look at all kinds of scenarios looking at how we could change that system," Thompson tells CKNX News.

Highlights from that plan can be found here.

Thompson is scheduled to open a second campaign volunteer centre in Goderich on Saturday.

The next federal election is scheduled to occur on October 19, 2015.
